Here are some questions that I asked Dan via email about EW8. If you too have these issues here are the answers.
1. Can't get English British dictionary to work, when you select it, it immediately changes it back to English (American). It works perfectly in 7.4.1.9

I haven't personally tested other dictionaries, but I've passed that along to our development team to look into.
2. In the Schedule column the icons should have in the top right hand corner, a symbol denoting whether they are a song, scripture, image, video or presentation as in 7 but they are missing in 8.

That's something we've discussed internally before. I'll bring it up again. I believe there may have been a specific reason it was left out, and there's a chance it could be part of a future update.
3. When adding a background image to a song or whatever, there is no 'Apply to Theme' button so you have to apply to each individual verse.

Our developers intentionally left that option out, but there's a workaround in the meantime: go to the Slides tab, select all your slides with Ctrl+A, and then make your change. It will apply to all of them at once. You can also click Edit Layout at the bottom of the Inspector panel to edit the theme directly, which will update all slides.
4. If you already have a background set, but want to change it, it always starts with video. Other software would display what was already selected to save having to go through many menus to get back to where you are. This also applies to saving, the program knows the name of the schedule you want to save so why is the field blank? All this makes the software hard going because you have to repeat things over so many times. If the programmers thought this through to make the software more user friendly.
