The latest version is 6.7.9.1 (Feb 22, 2018). 6.7.8.0 (Sept 18, 2017) is newer than 6.4.8.0 (Dec 1, 2015). 6.4.8.0 was barely usable. The release notes you linked to show all of the changes made between 6.4.8.0 and 6.7.8.0, all 11 pages worth. Here are the release notes for 6.7.9.1 and I would recommend running it as it is actually usable in a service and well worth the update.
