[v6 General Discussion] PowerPoint Flashes

We have the same issues too from time to time.
Any feedback from EW staff on this?
We had this glitch today.
By no means critical, but weird.

I find it embarassing. Some random slide from somewhere flashes in the screeen. Makes the operator (me) look like I messed up. Very unprofessional looking.
We get this also - not a major issue, but not cool either!
Little frustrated we cannot get a response on this. Can EW confirm they know about this issue? That they hope to find a solution?
Or, are there no answers and we just have to learn to live with it?

Hi Craig,
I can confirm that this is a bug. I actually thought it had been fixed in 7.0, but it seems to still be an issue. I've pushed it back into the version 7.0 bug list to be fixed.

Thank you!
A work around would be to install PowerPoint 2010 viewer and use that instead of the full application.
Make sure you download the US version from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... aspx?id=13
If you are outside the US, you may need to change the en-gb in the url to en-us if the microsoft site changes the url.
You'll also want to set the DPI compatibility settings on the viewer to make sure the slideshows appear properly.
Here is the article for that.

In EW, click on edit, options, advanced.
Check the option to use PowerPoint Viewer instead of application.

Often, when we go live with the second PP, the last slide of the previous PP will quickly flash on the screen before the second shows its first slide. Anything that can be done to fix this?
Happens on EW6 & 7
