I have looked in the learning center about creating themes and have created some themes using video media but when I create them I always have a black bar at the bottom of the screen where the copyright information is. This ends up showing the original song background down there when this them is applied to the song. How can you get rid of that? I have a screen shot of it but I can't figure out how to paste or insert it here.

Please make sure that you are not adding the background as a foreground element on the theme. You can either drag it to the slide on the left or click on inspector and set the background there. That will make the background fill the slide.
