Advanced editing of SELECTED text in a slide, and not all text in a slide

In our presentations, we have a mix of both lowercase and ALL CAPS lines of text to differentiate between leader text and congregational text. Normally what I do is pre-format the text in a word document and then copy/paste it over. This is fine, but it's not time-saving.
What would be awesome is if we could edit text in a slide beyond just color, size, and font, but also whether a word, line, etc. is all caps, no caps, its margins, or whatever other helpful editing feature could be implemented. Also (and I believe this has already been requested), on the secondary output, whatever formatting we do doesn't seem to carry over to the secondary output.
