"Save As" Window Does Not Appear When Saving A Schedule

Modified on: Mon, 2 Nov, 2020 at 10:01 AM

Issue

This issue is caused by compatibility settings that were set in a previous version of Windows before the upgrade to Windows 10. The options to disable visual themes and to disable desktop composition were checked in the previous version of Windows. These restrictions could have been applied by the Compatibility Assistant or by someone manually setting them.

During the upgrade these settings were left in place, but Windows 10 no longer gives you the option to disable or enable these settings.

The only way to remove these compatibility flags is to delete the registry entry. Two keys are created when this setting is set, however they seem to be linked. Usually deleting one causes the other to disappear.

Solution

Changes made to the Windows registry happen immediately, and no backup is automatically made. Do not edit the Windows registry unless you are confident about doing so. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to re-install Windows to correct them. Use this tool at your own risk.

  1. Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard, or right-click on the the Windows Logo Start button on the task bar and click Run.
  2. Type in regedit in the Open: box and click OK.
  3. Browse to the following path. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers]
  4. Right-click and delete the entry for "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Softouch\\Easyworship 6\\Easyworship.exe"="DISABLETHEMES DISABLEDWM"
  5. Then browse to the following path. [HKEY_USERS\S-#-#-##-#########-##########-##########-####\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers]
  6. Right-click and delete the following entry if it is available "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Softouch\\Easyworship 6\\Easyworship.exe"="DISABLETHEMES DISABLEDWM"
  7. Close the Registry Editor by clicking the X at the top right of the window.
  8. Now EasyWorship will open without these restrictions and you will be able to save schedules.
