Exception EAccessViolation Error When Opening EasyWorship 7

Modified on: Thu, 9 Jun, 2022 at 12:10 PM

Error Description:

If you are receiving this Exception EAccessViolation error when opening EasyWorship 7, this will occur on any computer running Windows 7 or older version of Windows. Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 in January 2020, so we no longer support EasyWorship on any Windows 7 computer.

Resolution:

The main resolution for this issue, would be to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11. That will no longer cause you to receive this error message. If you will be upgrading to Windows 10 or Windows 11, you may want to backup your EasyWorship database just in case any of your files are deleted during the upgrade process.

Here is a link to an article to help you backup and restore your EasyWorship database:

Transfer EasyWorship Profile

If you are currently unable to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11, here are a few steps as a temporary workaround to install an older build of EasyWorship 7, build 7.1.4.2. This will allow you to use EasyWorship 7 on your Windows 7 computer until you are able to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.

  1. Make sure EasyWorship 7 is closed.
  2. Here is the link to download EasyWorship 7, build 7.1.4.2:
    EasyWorship build 7.1.4.2
  3. Once the download is complete, click to open and run the installer file.
  4. You may have to click Yes to allow the app to make changes.
  5. Click to accept the license agreement, and then click Next until you get to the final screen, and then click Install.
  6. Double-click to open the EasyWorship 7 icon on your desktop.
  7. Once EasyWorship is open, in the Window that says Database Sort Order Unsupported, click on the Use Windows User Locale button, and then click OK.

This should convert all of your database and now you can open EasyWorship 7 without any error message.

NOTE: We no longer support EasyWorship on any Windows 7 computer. You will want to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11 for full support of EasyWorship.

If this does not resolve your issue, please contact EasyWorship Support.
