EasyWorship 8 Beta for Mac and PC
@David thanks for that. I can see that they have implemented Mac scroll bars on the Preview and, presumably, on the live and Schedule panes but NOT on the SongSelect which has square ends. Apart from Options now being called Settings everything else looks identical. This may make documentation easier but, as you suggest, doesn't work well for familiar Mac users. The output position setting was never intuitive for Windows users either.
@Technology. Yes, I see what you mean about the scroll bars in the SongSelect pane. They are Mac-like in a local database pane but not for SongSelect. That's just a minor thing though.
My main problem testing at the moment is for the Live output. Whenever I go Live I get a black screen with no way to get out of it. Sometimes, with a bit of screen switching I do get the actual live output but it takes over the entire computer and even adding Desktops using the Mission Control button doesn't help as switching Desktops just goes to a black screen again. When in single screen on a PC, the Live output is behind the schedule window but on the Mac beta it seems to be in front, so you can't get to the main window to switch off Live. The software seems to automatically set the Output Position by referencing your Display settings. The button named 'Monitor Setup' opens your Mac's Displays pane in System Settings. Normally in Keynote or PowerPoint you send the output to an extended display screen and it just works no matter how the screens are arranged. However, EasyWorship seems to need to know how the screens are arranged and then make an offset calculation for where to send the Live output. However for me it gets the calculation wrong and on a second display the black screen has a partial desktop on one side. I'm using an M3 MacBook Air connected to a 4K external display set to 2560 x 1440 scaled. I suspect that the PC version has become very complicated because of the plethora of PC graphics cards and needs to do things like add margins and offsets but the Mac should be much simpler. My preference would be:
1- Check if the Mac has one physical display and when Live is on- just take over the screen and hit escape to switch off Live. There could be a keyboard shortcut for advancing the next song.
2- Check if the Mac is controlling two physical displays and send the Live output to the second display at its set resolution. (If the displays are mirroring then option 1 kicks in.)
The foldback output should only be selectable if you have three physical displays connected.
The escape button would stop the Live output. This is how all other presentation software like Keynote works.
If you're testing the Mac Beta I would recommend going into Settings/Advanced and making sure 'Show live screen on startup' is off, otherwise every time you launch you'll get a black screen.

The live output opening in front of the control screen on a Mac with a single monitor is a known issue and will be fixed. EasyWorship has mentioned this before that if you're on a single monitor on a Mac, to not turn on the Live button.
The Beta seems to require you store files in a folder located at: /Users/Shared/Softouch/Easyworship/KBC/Resources/Schedules/
It stores schedules here automatically.

If you find any bugs, please post them in this thread only. Here is the information we need about the bug.
Make sure you can reproduce the bug. We realize that there could be things that only happen once, but usually, those are connected to something else. You are welcome to post about it, but please let us know if it only happened once and you couldn't reproduce it. If you can consistently make something happen that shouldn't happen, or if something doesn't happen that should, please report it as a bug.
If you get a crash report, click on Show Report, then click anywhere in the report and press Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C, and then paste it into a Notepad (txt) file and save it to attach to your post.
When you post about a bug, please describe in detail how you are reproducing the bug. If you can take a screen recording or a screenshot, or if you have a crash report, please attach those to your post.
We value your input and willingness to try this new version of EasyWorship. Still, we want this thread to be productive and not destructive, so please limit comments to the productivity of making this version ready to release.
As always, this is a BETA version that is not recommended for use in live services.
