EW 2009 doesn't run well under Windows 10 or 11. Trying to run it in those versions of Windows will exhibit that exact behaviour. As it hasn't been supported since 2018 it won't be updated to fix that problem. You have two options. You can try the latest version of EW2009 (build 2.4) if you can find it or upgrade to EW7.
