When I open up the Easyworship 6 on my laptop, the taskbar goes black and when I minimize the screen, the home screen is pitch black. I can only see the home screen when I exit the program.

I think your live output is taking over your screen. You should be able to hold down the ALT key and then press the TAB key to cycle though the open programs and get back to the EasyWorship Control screen and then click on the LIVE button to turn off the live output.
