Modified on: Tue, 26 Sep, 2023 at 2:29 PM

This article will walk you through changing your hotkeys that changed when installing EasyWorship 7.3 or newer back to the way it was before installing this version of EasyWorship.

If you used a presenter remote and it isn't working anymore, you can also follow these steps to make it work like it did before installing EasyWorship 7.3.

Reverting Hotkeys To Previous Setting

  1. Close EasyWorship.
  2. Open the Windows File Explorer by either clicking on the yellow folder icon in your Windows taskbar at the bottom, or on your keyboard you can hold the Windows logo key and then press the 'E' key, which will also open the File Explorer window.
  3. In the address bar, type in %programdata% and press Enter.
  4. Open the Softouch folder.
  5. Open the EasyWorship.v7 folder.
  6. Open the Settings folder.
  7. Rename the Hotkeys.2 file to Hotkeys.old.
  8. Rename the Hotkeys file to Hotkeys.2.
  9. Open EasyWorship.
  10. Go live with a song or PowerPoint.
  11. Click on the first slide in the Live window and the remote will be able to navigate the slideshow.

Your Hotkeys should now work as they did before installing EasyWorship 7.3.

If they are still not working, follow the steps below for manually changing the Hotkeys.

Changing Hotkeys Manually

  1. First open EasyWorship and open an existing schedule, or drag a song or PowerPoint into the Schedule window.
  2. Go live with the first item in the schedule, and click on the first slide in the Live window.
  3. On the presenter remote, press the Next Slide button. Take note of the behavior of EasyWorship for step 10 below.
  4. Close EasyWorship.
  5. Click on the Windows Logo Start button in the bottom-left corner of your screen, and type Run in the search bar and press Enter, or right-click the Windows Logo Start button and click Run.
  6. In the Run box that appears, type in %programdata% and press Enter.

  7. Double-click Softouch>EasyWorship.v7>Settings.
  8. Double- click on Hotkeys2.ini.
  9. When Windows asks what to open the file with, select Notepad. This what you will see when the file opens:
  10. If your remote is sending the next item in the schedule to the screen when pressing the Next Slide button, it uses PgUp and PgDn to navigate slides.

    Make the following changes:
    • Change GoLiveNextKeys to 0 (zero).
    • Add 34 to SlideNextKeys (SlideNextKeys=78, 40, 32, 34).
    • Change GoLivePrevious to 0 (zero).
    • Add 33 to SlidePrevKeys (SlidePrevKeys=80, 38, 8, 33).

  11. If your remote is selecting the next item in the schedule when pressing the Next Slide button, it uses the Left and Right Arrow keys to navigate slides.

    Make the following changes:

    • Change ScheduleNextKeys to 0 (zero)
    • Add 39 to SlideNextKeys (SlideNextKeys=78, 40, 32, 39)
    • Change SchedulePrevKeys to 0 (zero)
    • Add 37 to SlidePrevKeys (SlidePrevKeys=80, 38, 8, 37)

  12. Save the file (Ctrl+S).
  13. Close Notepad and open EasyWorship.
  14. Go live with a song or PowerPoint.
  15. Click on the first slide in the Live window and the remote will be able to navigate the slideshow.
