Is there a Way to Do this in EW8

In EW7 if you add  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Softouch\EasyWorship 7\EasyWorship.exe" closehelperonexit in the Target box in the Desktop Shortcut if will close the Helper along with EW.

This does not work with EW8 possibly because it has different coding as it's a 64bit program. Is there an alternative for EW8?

I had to use AI it gave me steps that work. I tested it and it worked for me.

Why the Old Shortcut Method Doesn't Work

In EasyWorship 7 (a 32-bit program), adding closehelperonexit to the target field of a standard Windows shortcut told the program to close the helper on exit. Because EasyWorship 8 was rebuilt as a native 64-bit application, it no longer recognizes that command-line switch.

Using a simple Windows batch file achieves the exact same result: it launches EasyWorship 8, waits until you close the program, and then automatically terminates EasyWorshipHelper.exe.

1.Verify Your Installation Path:

Open File Explorer (Win + E) and navigate to C:\Program Files\Softouch\.

Look at the exact name of the EasyWorship folder inside. It will typically be named either EasyWorship 8 or EasyWorship.

Verification: Open the folder and confirm that EasyWorship.exe is located directly inside.

2.Create the Batch File:2 min.

  1. Right-click on an empty area of your Desktop and select New > Text Document.

  2. Double-click the new text file to open it in Notepad.

  3. Paste the following script code inside:

@echo off start "" "C:\Program Files\Softouch\EasyWorship 8\EasyWorship.exe" powershell -Command "Wait-Process -Name 'EasyWorship' -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue" taskkill /f /im EasyWorshipHelper.exe >nul 2>&1

(Note: If your folder from Step 1 was named EasyWorship without the  8, delete the  8 from the second line path so it reads "C:\Program Files\Softouch\EasyWorship\EasyWorship.exe").

Verification: The path in quotes matches your actual folder path on your hard drive.

3.Save as a Executable Batch File:

  1. In Notepad, click File > Save As....

  2. Change the Save as type dropdown from Text Documents (*.txt) to All Files (.).

  3. File name: Launch EasyWorship 8.bat

  4. Save the file to your Desktop (or a secure location like your Documents folder).

Verification: The file icon changes on your desktop to show two gears, indicating it is now a batch file.

Test the Setup:

Double-click your new shortcut to launch EasyWorship 8.

Verification: EasyWorship opens normally without any error messages. When you close EasyWorship 8, open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to verify that EasyWorshipHelper.exe is no longer running in the background.
